BEIJING, April 13 (Xinhua) -- Li Shulei, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met with a media delegation from the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Thursday.

Li, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, briefed the delegation on the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress. He also reviewed the historic achievements made in the cause of the Party and the country since the 18th CPC National Congress, and spoke highly of the important contributions made by Macao compatriots, including those from the media.

Li called on Macao's press circles to continue to hold high the banner of loving both the motherland and Macao, foster greater patriotism and a strengthened sense of national identity, build stronger cultural confidence, and share the success story of "one country, two systems" in Macao.

The delegation said the press in Macao would carry forward the tradition of loving both the motherland and Macao, and contribute to promoting the sustained and steady progress of "one country, two systems," as well as long-term prosperity and stability in the SAR.
